Using theAustralian MusicTouring Network
Welcome to the Australian Music Touring Network: your information hub for touring right across the country!
The AMTN has been built for artists and managers, designed to help connect you with the right venue for your music and your audiences. Original live music venues of all sizes, from city rooms to regional pubs, community halls to intimate cafes, have been invited to sign up for free and claim their place on the map. As we build, the Australian local live music ecosystem begins to come to life in this living, map-driven directory that puts the right information in the right hands and opens up the connections that successful touring is built on.
How to use the AMTN
There are two main ways to use the AMTN: browsing or searching.
To get a feel of the platform, you might like to start by browsing the map. Clicking on a venue icon and the “More info” button will take you to the venue’s unique profile. There you can find info including their preferred genres, opening days, and even local intel such as nearby eats, accom, or transport options. We suggest checking out the venue’s socials and/or website when you think the vibe is compatible, which are also available on their profile.
If the venue looks like a match to you and your music, you can find the contact details of the person managing bookings, technical specifications, and so much more info, all within the venue’s profile.
If you already know what type of venue you need, you can jump straight into searching using the Filter function. You can search by capacity, type of venue, backline availability, accessibility features, and many more options.
See something you like? You can add any venue to your Favourites by clicking the heart icon.
Now it’s time to build your tour!
Using the Touring function on the left side bar, you can plot your regional or national tour, adding your selected venues from the map. Drag and drop to change the order and see how your driving itinerary is affected. The touring function will show you distances and approximate driving times between your stops.
You can share your tour itinerary with bandmates using the Share function, or Export the data to a spreadsheet.
Once you have your tour stops planned, don’t forget to check out which community radio stations service the areas you’re visiting using the Radio Stations button on the top right corner of the map. Thanks to the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, you can browse every community radio station across the country. Make sure to also check out AMRAP, linked at the bottom of each station profile, to connect with broadcasters in your area.
